Sacred Fire: A Durham Pentecost Celebration

On June 8, 2025 Pilgrims attended a Pentecost celebration. Pilgrim UCC is a participating organization in the Mount Level Community Partnership for Racial Justice, which hosted the celebration at New Creation United Methodist Church.

We heard an inspiring sermon by Rev. Krystal Berry, Duke Divinity School Office of Black Church Studies. We were moved by the liturgical dances of King’s Park International Liturgical Dancers and the Blacknall Memorial Liturgical Dancers. We heard a dramatic reading of Acts 2:1-13 and worshipped together with songs and prayers.
