Greetings from Greyson
Hello Pilgrims!
Last week in our Children’s Message, I told a story of a fish who was asking to get to the ocean. The fish didn’t realize that the waters that move all around it, and move through the fish, are already the ocean! We can be a lot like this. We can tirelessly search for God in this place or that practice and forget to just…
Stop.
Look.
See God all around us and within us.
For Sunday School this week, we will be discussing what this even means! What does it mean to say God is always around us, if we cannot see God like we see our friends or our parents? It can be much like the fish, calling its surroundings “water” instead of the “ocean.” We need to train ourselves to see in a new way. How we envision God is in large part up to each of us.
I relate deeply to a God incarnated in Jesus. Others may find more resonance in a Force beyond human bounds. Each expression is beautiful. Yet we are, each and every one of us, invited to notice God infused in every facet of our lives, in every person that we meet, in every moment of connection. When we can notice this, we can see just how wholly loved we are, and we can see how to embody that love for others. So,
Stop.
Look.
Tell us what you see.
