Greetings from Greyson

Hi Pilgrims!

As I move through my third week here, I am beginning to reach new milestones. For one, I drove home from church without needing my GPS for the first time. For another, I will have the honor of giving my first Children’s Message this upcoming Sunday.

One of my favorite things about Children’s Messages is that they are often told through simple objects and experiences that children are already familiar with. A favorite book helps us think about how God calls us to care for one another, a stuffed animal helps us think through the wonder of God’s Creation, an embodied prayer teaches us how to move through the world with empowered gentleness.

This week, Rev. Lindy and I were discussing how our whole lives are spiritual, theological, relational. Children’s Messages help us to notice this - how God can use the simplest objects and most mundane experiences in our lives to spark wonder, to bring us closer to one another, and to lead us to encounters with the divine. You all have already been connecting these dots through the beautiful congregant-led Children’s Messages, and I look forward to taking up this mantle to continue that experience.

As always, these messages are the beginnings of conversations. I’m excited to be in conversation with each of you across the whole wonderful lifespan of our Pilgrim community.

Peace be with you,

Greyson
