A Posting from Pastor Lindy
Thank you Pilgrims,
For the many birthday wishes you sent my way on Wednesday. My heart was filled with gratitude for the love that flowed between. Love and gratitude are the theme this week as we prepare for our congregational meeting Sunday when we will affirm the hard work of the nominating committee by voting for the slate of incoming Pilgrim officers. A deep wellspring of thanksgiving for those who said yes to the call to serve, as well as for those who did the calling.
But such thanksgiving is preceded by another for those to whom we are indebted for their year/s of service. Our worship will surround and honor all who have faithfully served this church this past year, and especially those whose official terms are ending. Many of these dedicated individuals have invested their time, talent and resources into supporting Pilgrim’s mission and ministry for 4 consecutive years (2 terms of 2 years). We would not be the church we are without their presence and participation and we are grateful for all of the ways in which they have shown up!
Pastor Greyson and I often marvel at the many beautiful facets of our Pilgrim community, specifically the wonderfully unique way we do church. One of those facets is our intentional commitment to being a volunteer-led organization of Pilgrim members. I am humbled to serve alongside you, lending my thoughts, counsel and guidance as you lean into God’s hope for this community and chart our way forward. This shared leadership model takes teamwork as any good covenantal relationship does and we are better for our commitment to each other as we honor both the Holy and this community.
grateful to be on the journey with you,
Pastor Lindy
