A Letter from Lindy Oct 19
Hi Pilgrims,
Such a festive, busy weekend we have at Pilgrim with the celebration of Kyle and John’s wedding on Saturday. Kyle and John, musicians they are, will fill our space with their love language. Not surprisingly, it was through music they met, as Kyle was assigned to be a certaom collegiate vocal ingenue’s accompanist their first year in college. And as they say, the rest is “their”story, culminating in the covenant they will make, with us bearing witness.
We have talked throughout these past 10 months about how we resist amidst a terrain of punishment, hurt and destruction, especially to the most vulnerable of communities. We named finding ways to push back, while leaning into hope. Not creating new things really, just being who Pilgrim is. But now with increased intentionality. I am grateful to be part of a community whose vision and mission is to usher in God’s kindom of love, justice, compassion and peace through word and deed.
I think this wedding is a celebration of Pilgrim’s orientation to reflect the Holy’s expansive, inclusive love. Hope to see you there.
grace and peace,
Pastor Lindy
