Greetings from Greyson
Michelle Hill (she/her). New Pilgrim UCC Nursery Teacher.
Hello Pilgrims!
It is my delight to announce that we have hired a new nursery teacher, Michelle Hill! Through the interview process, Michelle and I have had wonderful conversations about her experience working in preschools and her educational background in Early Childhood Development. Her references only had glowing things to share about her work with children, and she was able to shadow our current nursery extraordinaires, Gabe and Brian, last week.
Michelle shares: “I am a dedicated preschool teacher with over 20 years of experience. I hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and am passionate about creating a nurturing, kind, and engaging environment where every child feels valued and loved. When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time with my family, reading, and exploring nature—whether I am walking through the woods or enjoying a day out on the water.” Michelle also shared with me her love for building relationships with families, so please stop by the nursery to introduce yourselves and welcome Michelle to our team!
In other faith formation news, I am off to OWL training for grades K-1 and 4-6 this weekend, so I will be gone this Sunday. I look forward to all that I will learn and to being back at Pilgrim next week!
Oh, and keep an eye out for my announcement in this newsletter for our Discovering Belonging at Pilgrim discussion I will lead on August 23rd. We will share a brief history of the UCC and of Pilgrim for anyone interested, whether a new or seasoned Pilgrim!
Excited for all the ways we are journeying together!
