Mental Health & Wellness Bible Study #1 | Sunday, September 26th, 12:30pm
“Workshop” style, In person, revised to be semi-monthly
Every year, millions of Americans experience shame and stigma surrounding mental illness (1 in 5 adults), serious mental illness (1 in 25), dementia (1 in 14 over the age of 65), or other numerous neurological disorders. What makes it difficult to talk about mental illness or to help someone with a brain disorder? Where does stigma come from, and why does it matter? What are some ways we can remove the stigma of mental health in our community? How can our faith help or hinder us as we approach mental illness? Let us share in faith and fellowship as we discuss these important questions and more together. Over the course of the 2021-22 year we will be holding mental health workshops focusing on a different form of mental illness. Join us on Sunday, September 26th for our opening session focusing on depression, meeting outside on the patio (or in the fellowship hall in case of rain or 85+ degree heat) from 1-3 pm.
E-mail Kristen Brooks for questions or just show up!
