It's time! It's time! Time for CROP Hunger Walk season! This year marks the 50th YEAR of Durhamites gathering to raise hunger awareness and funds to alleviate hunger right here in Durham and around our world. 50 YEARS y'all! So, let's take a short journey down memory lane. Is there a Walk memory YOU would like to share? Would YOU be willing to help me organize our Pilgrim team? Would YOU be willing to share WHY you participate in the Walk?
Please remember that 75% of Walk funds provide Church World Service (CWS) with the financial resources to aid people who are hungry due to poverty, drought/climate change, conflict or war in their homeland, and natural disasters. 25% of Walk funds give local Durham agencies which address poverty the resources needed to help families whose salaries aren’t enough to cover all their expenses, seniors who don't have the means to travel to the grocery store, homeless individuals, and individuals challenged by mental and emotional struggles.
