Durham CAN Call to Action: Pilgrims sought to attend a U.S. Senate Candidates Forum on Issues Important to North Carolina
The Pilgrim CAN Core Team is calling on Pilgrims to attend a candidates’ forum for the U.S. Senate race in North Carolina on Sunday, October 18.
Durham CAN has played an active role in organizing the forum with United Power for Action, the statewide coalition of compatible organizations. About 750 people from churches, organizations, labor unions, nonprofit groups and communities across the state will meet the North Carolina U.S. Senate candidates to elevate our concerns involving housing, gun violence, wages, health care costs and immigration raids, among other issues.
We believe that working together, people have the power to change their communities for the better. Our Core Team is looking for at least 25 Pilgrims and allies to attend to show their support for this effort. We know we can do this because that is the same number we had to attend the 2024 statewide candidates forum.
The event will take place at Wake Chapel Church in Raleigh from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on October 18. Carpooling will be arranged. Sign-up sheets will be available after Sunday services leading up to the event. Join this Strength to Power assembly!
