Greyson's Greetings

Happy beginning of HallowThankMas everybody!

Here in the office, we are planning ahead for this holiday season.

First, we look forward to Trunk or Treat THIS SUNDAY, October 25th, after service. Participating cars will park along the side of the building (decorations encouraged!!) for the kids to receive their candy and other items (pencils, temporary tattoos, etc.). Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes!!

Then, we look ahead to the start of Advent, which is quickly approaching. Advent always seems to find me when I need it. It names for us that sense of whole body and soul exhaustion and the restless waiting for something good to come and shake up our world. It holds for us in beautiful tension those times when hope feels difficult to access and yet we still feel a small, stubborn spark of hopeful light make its way through our hearts. Advent provides warmth to our weariness, like a bowl of warm soup made by the hands of our loved ones.

Speaking of Advent…it’s time to begin our sign-ups for the soups we will share during fellowship hour at Adventfest on November 29th.

If you would like to contribute a soup, please use this link to sign up and let us know what you’re planning to bring (or email me directly to sign up). I have heard great things about this ritual of sharing! I am excited to experience it firsthand!

Many blessings to each of you as we journey through these weeks ahead,

Greyson
