A Posting from Pastor Lindy

Hi Pilgrims,

I feel like the pace of October is in overdrive. Perhaps that is because it seems I have been and will be traveling much of the month, so the windows in between my trips feel condensed and a bit frenetic to get our “to do” lists done. Never does our weekly output have a leisurely pace, but these three day sprints leave me winded.

I say this knowing that we are in that part of the Christian (and church) calendar where everything ramps up. From Sunday School to Leadership Retreat to new Boards to Budget to Stewardship to Advent planning and beyond, we are juggling many balls, hoping we drop none.

One ball worthy of attention is Pilgrim’s migration to ChurchTrac. What is ChurchTrac you ask? ChurchTrack is our new software that integrates church management into the palm of our hands. How did we get here? After an analysis of Pilgrim’s financial management (thanks to the incredible report of our former Treasurer, Mark Webbink) our team recommended adopting this software to the Board of Trustees. Over this past year, our Treasury Team (specifically Chuck Clifton, PIlgrim’s Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer, David Heist) have taken on the monumental task of migrating our complicated, multi-process finances onto this new system which hopefully will reduce some of the demands on the Treasurer. I say this, knowing this role is a heavy-lift. That migration is now complete and we are so grateful for the perseverance and dedication of these two for seeing the process through. It is a wonder they are still standing ;)

Our next step collectively will be moving our individual giving to ChurchTrac, which will be a process in itself. Chuck and David have successfully moved their giving as a trial run and today, I followed suit. We will soon be inviting those Pilgrims who give through Vanco to migrate to ChurchTrac next. It’s not complicated, but we want to transition with care, so we will be issuing invitations in small groups so we don’t overwhelm the church administrator with too many people. Slow and steady wins the race.

My ask is that when you receive this invitation, please reach out to the office so we can walk you through the process to ensure an easy transition. We will let you know when the first set of invites is sent.

Grateful am I for the leadership team who is helping Pilgrim become a better version of itself.
