Happy Durham Pride Month!!
Many of us have been looking forward to this month for some time now as we have prepared to celebrate the vibrant lives and gifts that LGBTQIA+ people bring to the Church and to the world!
Here at Pilgrim, we joyfully mark some ways to get involved with Pride:
September 13: Last Day to Order Pilgrim Pride T-Shirts!

September 19th, 4 pm- 7 pm: Pilgrim’s Pride Decoration Party!
Just like our patron saint Dolly Parton, we will let “no rhinestone go unturned” as we join with Refuge UCC for our decorating party! Come with your imagination, your creativity, or simply your presence as we make signs, tissue paper flowers, and truck decorations.
October 3rd, 12 pm- 2 pm: Durham Pride Parade!
Join Pilgrim and Refuge UCC as we march in the Parade! If you’d like to march, or if you’d like to join those Pilgrims who sit to watch the parade at Branches Community School, please use this link to add your name and the number of people in your party: Pilgrim Pride Marchers.
October 4th: Pride Storytelling Service
We will celebrate the gifts of LGBTQIA+ Pilgrims in a special storytelling service, accompanied by a timeline and oral history collected by Beth Branciforte and Richard Whitaker (thank you, Beth and Richard!!).
