A Letter from Lindy July 19

Pilgrims,

It is with delight that I share with you our four Killenberg Scholarship recipients for the 2026/2027 academic year:

Jonathan Earnest 

EdD-Higher Education Leadership, UNC Wilmington

Jonathan hopes to complete his program in December 2026. He will do so while also working full-time and carrying a second part-time job. Jonathan is currently in the data analysis portion of the dissertation phase with no further coursework needed. His dissertation focuses on faculty perceptions of the increased centralization in graduate admissions as fueled by academic capitalism. As of this fall, Jonathan’s program will mark 6 years of study. Pilgrim celebrates and supports this final chapter of Jonathan’s educational journey.

Ethan McNair 

BS-Biological Sciences, NC State

Ethan begins his second year at NC State and this scholarship will allow him to cover the cost of books and learning materials required for classes. Pilgrim surrounds and supports Ethan as he develops the foundation to pursue further studies in the medical field.

Rob McNair

BS-Biology, Rhodes College

Rob also begins his second year of studies at Rhodes College. The scholarship will defray the costs of books and supplies, enabling him to focus his time and energy on his education. Pilgrim’s support helps Rob concentrate on maintaining his academic performance and working toward his long-term goal of attending medical school.

Merveille Moussinangar

BS-Nursing, UNC Greensboro

We celebrate and surround Merveille as she embarks on her academic journey at UNC Greensboro with a goal of completing a BS in Nursing so as to pursue a career in the healthcare field in underserved communities and/or developing countries as a Traveling Nurse and/or the Public Health sector.

We surround our scholarship recipients with our prayers as they begin this academic year. We are forever grateful that in 2010 the Paul and Melinda Killenberg Scholarship Fund was established by benefactors to support the post-secondary education of Pilgrim members. We are indebted to the Killenbergs’ dedication to furthering our members’ educational aspirations. We are blessed to be able to continue to award scholarships yearly to qualifying applicants who are enrolled in a university, college, community college, post-secondary certificate, or graduate education programs. Students, as each of our recipients demonstrate, maintain a 2.0 grade point average or higher in the semester or quarter preceding application. 

Won’t you join me in congratulating this year’s recipients, while celebrating the many ways Paul and Melinda Killenberg continue to lead and guide Pilgrim even as they reside as cherished members of our cloud of witnesses.
