A Letter from Lindy April 19

Hello Pilgrims,

It is with delight that Hannah, Felix, and I welcomed Rev. Greyson Kentopp to the Pilgrim team this week. Hoping not to overwhelm, but “ease” him into all things Pilgrim, his schedule included our Team meeting on Tuesday, followed by a passing of the baton by Felix. Wednesday we had a chance to begin planning, followed by a conversation with Richard Whitaker and Beth Branciforte on behalf of the Board of Christian Service and Pilgrim’s Pride Planners. Thursday, Greyson spent time with our Moderator, Nathan Olawsky and Beth Bowling on behalf of the Board of Deacons. Sunday he will be meeting with the Board of Christian Education. That’s a lot of Pilgrim information in one short week, so maybe we were overly ambitious.

Grateful am I to experience Greyson as such a generous, willing spirit to jump right in to participate, learn, imagine and plan on Pilgrim’s behalf. Based on the conversation we had, we are going to marvel at the creativity with which Greyson is imagining what Faith Formation looks like at Pilgrim. Stay tuned! I can’t wait to be in continued conversation as he has a few more weeks and months under his belt.

Sunday you will have an opportunity to get to know our new Associate Minister a little bit better as our “meditation” moment will be a conversation between Greyson and myself in which I hope he shares his passions, hopes and plans for serving in this role. I have also invited him to name the ways in which he would appreciate prayers,  support and participation from you in concrete ways. That is a tall order seven days in, so hear his words as a first draft, with opportunity for revision. After our conversation, we will formally invite Greyson to covenant with Pilgrim as we embark on this chapter of our story, and hopefully for many more chapters to come.

Please join me Sunday in welcoming Reverend Greyson Kentopp into Pilgrim’s mission and ministry.

grace and peace,

Pastor Lindy
