Contemplative Prayer

Called to 'Quiet Prayer'

Uncrowd our hearts, O God, until silence speaks in thy still small voice; turn us from the hearing of words and the making of words, and the confusion of much speaking that we may possess ourselves for these brief moments undistracted, waiting, with all our hopes, listening for thy footfall. Amen. - S.H. Miller

Pilgrims meet at 9 a.m. each Thursday to offer themselves to God with the intent to listen, to notice, and to await whatever may be given by the Spirit.

Each hour begins with an invitation to quiet prayer to rest in God's presence. A time of sharing blessings and concerns follows the quiet time which provides the basis for prayers of gratitude and petition.

The hour closes with a Scripture selection and a simple song. All are welcomed for all or part of the hour. For more information, call Alice Myers, 259-7474
