Pilgrim's Christian Service
Community Kitchen
Pilgrims make and serve dinner for 200 on fifth Tuesdays in Durham's Community Kitchen (about four times a year).

CROP walk
We raise funds every year by participating in CROP walk. Twent-five percent of the funds stay in Durham (for food agencies like Meals on Wheels), and the remaining seventy-five percent goes to Church World Service. Durham, Charlotte and Greensboro are among the five highest-producing CROP walks in the USA.

CROP walk award
Pilgrim was awarded Golden Sneaker award in 2006 and again in 2007 and 2009 in the small church category by Durham's CROP walk, for fund raising to help hungry people. Pilgrim's 2007 CROP walkers raised close to $5000, thanks to our many walkers and contributors.
Bilingual Exchange
A team of Pilgrims assist Spanish speakers to learn English as a second language (and we learn some Spanish in the process).

Reconciliation and Reentry
Pilgrim has a Faith Team of volunteers who provide practical, emotional and spiritual support to a person newly-released from prison. For more information about this program, visit the website for the Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham.
Good Samaritans
Three young Pilgrims were honored with the Good Samaritan Award for leadership in serving our neighbors. This 2-5th grade class raised $500 to purchase a "knitting Basket" through Heifer International (2 llamas and 2 sheep which will provide a family an income from wool).
In addition, our Young Adults do community service, we manage the Kroger Tapes program that generates food gift certificates for service agencies, we participate in Share Your Christmas, collect offerings for Blanket Sunday, Tools for Hope, the Emergency Energy Fund, One Great Hour of Sharing and Elon Home for Children, we participate in Interfaith Hospitality Network, and raise funds for local charities with our annual dinner and auction.
