Organization

Pilgrim United Church of Christ has a congregational form of government. The work of the church is organized and coordinated by four boards: Deacons, Trustees, Christian Education and Christian Service. Church members are nominated and elected for positions on the Boards for alternating two-year terms--half the board is elected each year. The Church Council, led by an elected Moderator, is comprised of representatives from the boards and other church officers. Boards and Church Council meet monthly.

Pilgrim UCC is represented at the General Synod of The United Church of Christ and by delegates sent through the Southern Conference. Pilgrim also has affiliations with the Eastern North Carolina Association of the Southern Conference, the World Council of Churches, National Council of Churches, North Carolina Council of Churches and Durham Congregations in Action.

The Church Council is the governing body of Pilgrim UCC. It reviews and coordinates the overall program of the congregation.
