Worship at Pilgrim United Church of Christ
No matter who you are, or wherever you are on life's journey, you are most certainly welcome here. |
As a sign of reconciliation with God and each other, we exchange the Peace of God with those around us. |
Children are invited to the front for time with the children. After leading the congregation in the Lord's Prayer, children ages 2-10 go to their Sunday school classes. Younger children are welcome to say in worship, or a nursery is available.
Our congregation enjoys having children with us in worship. |
Rev. Ginger Brasher-Cunningham leads us in offering the prayers of the people. |
The anthem by the choir deepens our experience of worship. |
Sermon by Rev. Ginger Brasher-Cunningham: May the words of my mouth, and the meditations of our hearts, be acceptable in Thy sight.
Benediction: As we came into worship, let us go out and serve. |
Pilgrims recognize the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion. Communion is offered during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on the first Sunday of each month. An informal communion service is offered at 11:40 am on the second through fifth Sundays in the Dowdy Room. |
Children collect pennies on the first Sunday of the month to support Pilgrim's food purchases for cooking at the Community Kitchen. |
Our worship space welcomes wheelchair and walker users, and we have large-print bulletins and hearing-assist devices available.
Pilgrim primarily sings from a customized hymnal, Hymns of Truth and Light, prepared by First Congregational Church, Houston, in 1998. |
We welcome visitors and newcomers to join us after worship in Fellowship Hall for coffee and an opportunity to get to know you better. |
